Shaft qualities

What might be considered a jungle for some, seems fairly understandable for us in the business. To enable our customers to make the right choices we have added a complete guide for our different shaft models for this season. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, it will hopefully be both interesting and useful for you to learn about which model that best suits you and your playing skills.

Composite

Our entry level shafts hold a composition of 100% glass fiber which make these basic shafts very durable. This is our oldest shaft technology created back in 2001 which means that it has existed in our stick range for almost 20 years. Glass fiber is a material consisting of small thin layers of glass which creates a stable and strong composition for our basic level of sticks for this season.

PRELIGHT

A NEW SHAFT WITH 23% CARBON FOR LIGHTNESS & RESPONSE & 77% GLASS FIBER FOR DURABILITY & AN AFFORDABLE SERIES.

Ultralight

This shaft has for a long time been an important part of our range and it was long considered the lightest shaft in the floorball business. A main portion consisting of 80% carbon fiber is mixed with a 20% glass fiber reinforcement, making the shaft lightweight, stable and well balanced. Ultralight is nowadays a part of our mid range shafts which enable you to procure great sticks offered at a favorable price.

Superlight

This is our best-selling shaft at the moment and it is the shaft that embraces the technique that represent our brand the most. Great quality with great balance in a great price range. Compared to ultralight, this shaft has a higher composition of carbon and less glass fiber which result in a lower shaft weight. Superlight is created with the balance in mind, and is always mounted with our air soft feel blades.

Airlight

This is our 1st ever 100% carbon fiber shaft. Created in 2016 with the intention of pushing the limits for lightweight shafts without loosing the carefully engineered balance points of superlight and ensuring that the durability is maintained. By using 100% carbon fiber we can provide extremely light shafts and with our innovative weaving technique we can maintain a high impact resistance without adding any extra weight to the shaft. This is floorball shaft engineering at it’s best and our airlight shafts come hand in hand with our light pp and air hard blades.

Prolight 3K™

This is our lightest shaft yet created in 2019 to join the absolut best in the world in terms of lightweight shafts. The raw shafts are made up of 100% carbon fiber and were developed under more than two years. During this development process, trials were conducted where a new and lighter version of carbon was implemented to find the lowest possible weight together with supreme balance without compromising with the quality. The hardest part is not to create light shafts, but to do so and still fulfill our high-quality demands. Prolight™ is certainly the shaft technique for our pros.

BALANCE SHAFT

BALANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A KEY WORD IN OUR STICK ENGINEERING. FROM ULTRALIGHT TO PROLIGHT, OUR SHAFTS ARE ALWAYS DEVELOPED WITH THE TOTAL WEIGHT IN MIND IN COMBINATION WITH THE CORRECT BALANCE POINT TO ENSURE A LIGHT HAND FEEL. FOR 21/22 WE WENT DEEPER AT OUR R&D SECTION TO ELABORATE WITH OUR VARIOUS COMPONENTS AND LAY-UP STRUCTURES OF OUR SHAFTS TO CREATE A MODEL WITH A LIGHTER BLADE FEEL AND AN OPTIMAL BALANCE CORRELATED TO OUR 5 BLADE MODELS. BY MOVING THE WEIGHT UP TO THE BUTT-END WE HAVE CREATED A NEW INNOVATIVE SHAFT BOTH TECH WISE AND FOR AN INNOVATIVE LOOK. BALANCE SERIES ARE DESIGNED WITH DEBOSSED ZONEFLOORBALL LOGO LETTERS AND ALUMINUM STRUCTURE PAINT.

Curve

The curve shafts in different angles were created for two reasons. Initially it was to provide a new angle to the ball with an open-faced blade without having to use a large concavity. The second reason was to improve the shot power which the lever properties of the curve shafts help facilitate. Our curve shaft are made with molding technique which enable us to create the desired shape of the shaft. These curve shafts are produced with 95% carbon fiber and 5% glass fiber and are certified in various options of 1.0°, 1,5°, 2,0° and the extreme 3.0° degree curve.

Thinshaft (TS)

This was an idea launched in 2015 where we wanted to provide our junior segment with a thinner and more grip friendly shaft for those with smaller hands. The shaft is made with a 1,3mm smaller diameter on the upper part and this technique is applied on one jr stick model every season.

Diameter+ (D+)

On the contrary to the thinshaft, we analyzed the pro players and found that many players used two gripbands to provide a thicker grip feeling. This resulted in the d+ where our engineers created a shaft with a thicker upper part of 1,3mm to imitate the feeling of having two gripbands on the stick.
